Meet Nancy Frazer, our new Associate Director of Volunteer Services. Nancy joined us in May and is eager to deliver the Ultimate Volunteer Experience by offering worthwhile, meaningful, and rewarding opportunities.
At Habitat for Humanity, our core business relies on the power of volunteers. In 2013, we received support from 675 volunteers, donating over 16,000 hours. That is the equivalent to over $240,000 in hourly wages! “Volunteering is a gift from the heart. What a selfless way of helping with your hands and mind to help better the lives of others. That to me is very powerful and rewarding” remarks long-time volunteer Anne Spriet.
Paul Angerilli, volunteer since 2012 has this to say, “Habitat for Humanity WDG offers a great learning environment where I feel well appreciated. Those I have worked with have been very patient and have really taken the time to teach me everything I need to know. And for me, it’s been my experience with Habitat more than anything else that has helped me to get ahead.” For Tammy in our Orangeville ReStore, “volunteering at the ReStore is very rewarding for me. The staff are wonderful and customers so friendly and happy. After a personal loss, I wasn’t sure how to put my life back together and I can tell you that things have been more positive for me since I started volunteering at the ReStore.”
Interested in getting involved? There are many volunteer opportunities to choose from but we are most in need of ReStore and Studio volunteers. “Working at the ReStore offers a variety of opportunities for advancement of skills in the areas of merchandising, customer service, warehousing, and cash” adds Nancy. “But if you have creative flair or an interest in learning how to re-purpose and create one-of-a-kind furniture, joining us in The Studio may be for you!” Join us today as a ReStore Associate, Cashier, Warehouse Associate, or Studio Volunteer! If you have any questions, Nancy invites you to contact her directly at (519) 767-9752 extension 38 or at email@example.com.
