Third Party Fundraising

Third Party Fundraising is an event or activity organized by an individual, company, community group or organization that is not an official Habitat for Humanity event, but donates proceeds from the event to the mission, families and community at Habitat.

For example, a third party event can be anything from a bake sale, birthday party or movie night where donations are collected in support of Habitat and then given to Habitat by the event organizer.

When you organize a third party event, you’re not only raising money to support Habitat, you are also raising awareness about us, and for that, we are extremely grateful

Use the application form to submit your event. Once approved, we will send you everything you need to track and submit donations.

Fundraising Guidelines

We appreciate your generosity and enthusiasm in organizing a fundraiser to benefit Habitat for Humanity Wellington Dufferin Guelph.

We also appreciate that your initiative will require your time, energy and personal resources. Please review these fundraising guidelines to understand your responsibilities and ensure your idea meets our community fundraising criteria.

  • All events, activities and promotions must be aligned with Habitat’s mission, vision, values and privacy policy. A Third Party Fundraising application form must be completed at least two weeks prior to your event.
  • Permission must be given by Habitat for Humanity Wellington Dufferin Guelph to use it’s name, logo, and associated brands. A copy of our logo and logo guidelines will be provided via e-mail upon acceptance of your application form. Use of our logo on promotional materials does not imply that the fundraiser is sponsored or cosponsored by Habitat – Habitat is only involved as a beneficiary.The following promotional layout must be adhered to on all marketing materials: (1) Name of Event (2) “In Support of/Proceeds to Benefit” (3) Habitat for Humanity Wellington Dufferin Guelph Logo.
  • Habitat for Humanity Wellington Dufferin Guelph will not incur any expenses or financial liability associated with third party events. The budget and it’s related expenses are the responsibility of the third party organizer. As per the Associated Fundraising Professionals Code of Ethics “taking commission for any purpose, on funds raised as a part of a third party fundraiser is prohibited”.
  • It is a good idea to record all monies collected on a summary sheet and to use this record when conducting a final count of all donations received.
  • While we would love to be at every event, staffing and resources are limited. If you would like Habitat to speak at your event, please reach out and we will notify you if we are able, or unable, to do so.
